The main gearbox and side gear drive endure extreme boundary friction and thermal loads during summer cultivation. Using non-EP (extreme pressure) oils results in rapid gear pitting and tooth spalling. Always use SAE 85W-140 or SAE 90 EP gear oil. Inspect oil levels weekly through the transparent dipstick and replace the oil after the first 50 operating hours, then every 250 hours.
